MI PUBLISHING HOUSE

MI Publishing House is a subsidiary of Monaana Institute (Pty) Ltd, which was established in 2005 as a consulting and training company and a close corporation. Monaana Institute got re-registered as a private company in 2013 and started a publishing house in 2017. We have helped develop many first-time authors to take a leap of faith and push the work they never thought they could have in the shelves of the book stores. MI Publishing House takes you through the process of putting together your materials, editing, proof reading, cover design together with final publishing! INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES

We are “Empowered to excel through knowledge”! We are proactive and wish to help organisations with information technology requirements of today. Technology is the only way to total organisational empowerment and development in the 21st century.

Monaana Institute offers training and education on a variety of hardware and software products such as:

  • Computer competency,
  • Software & Hardware,
  • Microsoft office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access),
  • Data processing and management,
  • Connectivity and Internet

The purpose of this training is to increase the employability chances of especially previously disadvantaged communities. That is why we take training to them where possible. Based on our need to speed up the process of empowering young people and those in rural communities. We offer a 6 to 12 months Basic Computer Studies Certificate course. We also offer NQF level 5 Qualification.

Monaana Institute was awarded a tender by MTN to train about 40 centre managers in rural areas across the country in 8 provinces on Basic Computer Studies in 2006/2007 financial year working with Desto.

MOTIVATIONAL TALKS

Monaana Institute Provides motivational talks to the public, government and Business employees, individuals and organisations on:

  • Unleashing potential
  • Women in and into business and management
  • Women empowerment
  • Youth development
  • Men living over the edge
  • Making the most of time at one’s disposal
  • Being the best employee/employer

Monaana Institute through the Managing Director (MD) and staff have offered motivational talks in the following ways:

  • To SABC women on the 07 August 2005 to celebrate Women’s day in Mmabatho.
  • Two of staff members were involved in the North West Department of Education’s motivational talks to 300 high schools across the province with the intention to improve on Matric results, and this project ended in June 2006. They worked with Tibane Consulting, our Technical partner, on the project.
  • One staff member continued with the team now motivating learners in 300 schools from the 5th February 2007.
  • The MD offers short messages or talks on Motsweding FM continuously on request.
  • The MD offered motivational talk at the wedding in Lehurutshe as guest speaker in May 2008.
  • From the 18th October 2008 the GM started to give motivational talks to listeners of Duma FM in Botswana. MD still offers talks in different radio stations like NW FM, and weekly on Village FM (Every Thursday morning- 2019)
  • We offer motivational talk packages for schools at the reopening of each term. Presently supporting Thebe Ya Tlhajwa Secondary School in Bojanala region
  • We offer motivation in weddings and parties as well
MENTORING PROGRAMME FOR PROFESSIONALS

We offer mentoring programme for professionals like principals of schools. The programme runs for a 2 to 3 year period. The programme covers

  • Administration
  • Identifying work related problems and providing intervention
  • Supporting the principals and motivating for service delivery
  • Visiting school sites
  • Guidance in quality management system improvement
  • Development of school policies
  • Conducting workshops on development of a constitution for governing bodies
  • Human resource management programmes

Currently mentored over 11 school principals until the end of 2019.

SMME MENTORSHIP

This programme is offered according to the needs of the clients, and ranges from a once off specially designed support programme to a three-year support and mentoring programme packaged for the clients and may include but not limited to the following programmes:

  • Needs analysis (Work study programme)
  • Doing administration for the enterprise for a period of time
  • Giving guidance on bookkeeping and general administration and management
  • Policy development
  • Training in specialised programmes like project management, financial management, basic computer training, marketing management, networking, office administration, management, leadership, etc
  • Networking and marketing opportunities
  • Support services (advice sessions)
  • Seminars
  • Workshops on specific field related areas

MENTORSHIP PROGRAMME FOR FARMERS

The programme for the farming community encompasses support, business advising, ABET training, formal accredited training and career training. Programmes may include but not limited to the following fields:

  • Needs analysis (Work study programme)
  • Policy development
  • Farm administration
  • Contracts drafting
  • Marketing of farm products
  • Creating networks
  • ABET training in Languages, Life-skills, Mathematical literacy, Entrepreneurship, Agricultural studies, Social Sciences, Economic and Management Sciences, etc
  • Training in specialised programmes like project management, financial management, basic computer training, marketing management, networking, etc
  • Support services (advice sessions)
  • Conducting Conferences, Seminars and Workshops on specific field related areas
  • Exposing farmers to international trading opportunities
MENTORSHIP PROGRAMME FOR CAREGIVERS

Caregivers give a lot to the sick, vulnerable, neglected and the emotionally disturbed people. They need all the support possible to help them to cope with stressful situations, emotional drainage and mental fatigue. They will be offered among other things the following:

  • Skills needs analysis
  • Special training on specific fields: Substance abuse, Stress management, Violence prevention, First aid, HIV/Aids, etc
  • Training in specialised programmes like project management, financial management, budgeting, fundraising, basic computer training, marketing, networking, etc
  • Support services (advice and counselling sessions)
  • Seminars
  • Workshops on specific field related areas
  • Conferences, etc

WORK STUDY PROGRAMMES COMPONENT

Monaana Institute’s reason for existence is to empower people and business as lack of empowerment in proper business management has been identified as one reason why people have a lot of working ideas but their businesses never grow or succeed. People need mentoring, support and continuous evaluation. We therefore offer the following services in terms of the work-study that we do in order to first discover what problems the Department, Municipality, Business or any organisation could have in order to further identify areas that need improvement so as to allow the organisation to function efficiently and effectively:

MANUFACTURING OF CLEANING DETERGENTS

Monaana Institute manufactures detergents through its arm called Charis Detergents. We produce among others the following: Bubble bath, dishwashing liquid, powder soap, ammonia cleaner and more. Some of our products are already SABS approved. We also train entrepreneurs to manufacture the products.

MUNICIPALITY EMPOWERMENT PROJECT SERVICES

MONAANA INSTITUTE would like to change municipalities into service delivery grounds. There are a variety of services that the company offers to municipalities that are geared towards empowering communities and reducing dependency on government funding and grants. That is why MONAANA INSTITUTE is excited to offer training to empower very important people who form part of the society of South Africa that is responsible to make the success of each company, municipality, department or organisation and even the country itself, which is the community.

Attention with regard to this training programme is paid to maximising the impact of the project, which seeks to train councilors, administrators, municipal management teams and the communities in the fields of Information, Communication and Technology, management, administration and governance.

MONAANA INSTITUTE concentrates on developing centres of excellence in multipurpose community centres found in Municipalities by starting computer training centres. We intend to provide each centre with about 21 computers, a printer, fax machine, photocopier and internet connection for training, internet access and access to typing and communication services. We also develop municipalities with skills in Municipal Finance Management Act; Municipal Systems Act and more.
